A loan of $3,250 helped a member to buy seeds and labor for her farm and raw materials for making her local brew.

Jane's Group's story

Jane K. is the leader of her group in Mukono. She is a hard-working and devoted lady who grows matooke, cassava, sweet potatoes and so on. She also makes local brew for sale as a wholesaler and at a retail price for her customers at her bar. She is happy that the loans help her buy quality seeds, employ manpower, and buy bananas and yeast to make her brew. She is a married woman with 10 children, five of whom are still in school. The rest work at various businesses. She needs a loan to help pay for her children’s school, to pay for farm work and to buy bananas and yeast needed to make her local brew.
