Akeneta's story

With no other fuel shop in her area, Akeneta, age 49, sees an opening to start her own business. With 20 households in her village, Akeneta is confident her retail business can succeed and she seeks a loan to buy initial stock of kerosene and premix and set it up. Not only will she serve her vicinity but three other nearby villages. The profits will supplement her husband’s income and enrich their quality of life.
