A loan helped a member to buy more cloth to meet her order backlog.

Zvemberi Group's story

With a certificate in clothing technology that she attained more than twenty years ago, Collin proved her passion for the tailoring business. The tailoring market in Harare is suffering from high levels of competition that result in low prices and hence, less returns. To counter this, Collin takes orders outside Harare in schools and security companies as well as churches, where she will get a better return as she quests for her business progress and success.

Due to her specialization, her tailoring business has successfully grown and has covered a wider customer base. Collin conducts her business in Harare, and that is where she gets her raw material of cloth, wool and some tailoring products.

Collin is a 49-year-old mother of four, with three of her children still school-going. She is married, and her husband is self-employed. After her husband was made redundant in 2006, he joined Collin in tailoring and now they are doing this as one.

Collin used her portion of the loan to buy more cloth to meet her order backlog.
