A loan of $875 helped purchase more liquor to sell.

Laura's story

Laura is a 43-year-old woman who is very happy and hard working. She lives in her own home along with her four children: Jaime, 22; Paulo, 20; Jesús and Domenica, 14; who are the motivation for all her efforts. Selling liquor is a very profitable business for Laura since the product is in high demand and her sales are always good. She tends to her home and that's also where she receives cases of liquor to sell direct from the factory. She also takes orders from distinct provinces in the region. What she most likes about her job is being able to tend to her business and also take care of her household duties at the same time. She has been doing this activity for five years and considers buying the liquor to be the most difficult part since there are many adult beverages and she has to know all the differences. For the future, she wants to have a big store where she can sell everything and not limit herself to just liquor. This is the sixth loan Laura has received from Kiva partner MFP, and she has been very punctual with her past payments and hopes to be again. She is a very happy member of her community bank and always gives advice to the other members. With the 2,500 soles loan she is requesting, she plans to buy more cases of liquor to be able to offer a wider selection to her customers.
