A loan of $200 helped to buy fertilizers and insecticides.

Mario Jose's story

Mario José C. V. is a 27-year-old young man who lives in the La Borgoña neighborhood in the municipality of Ticuantepe with his wife and 3-year-old son. His wife is employed and contributes to the household expenses. His plan for his family is to improve their living conditions and provide a good education for his son. He has been a farmer for the past 9 years since his father left him the farm to work himself. The greatest obstacle he must overcome is the lack of drinking water which is unavailable and must be purchased. He is grateful to Afodenic for approving his second loan since the first one allowed him to have a good crop yield and he repaid his loan in a timely fashion. He is also very happy that the interest rate is so low because that allows him to have a little money left over which he can invest in his home. This loan will be used to buy fertilizers and raw materials to improve his production so that he can sell at better prices.
