Union Y Fuerza Group's story

The Communal Bank “Union y Fuerza” (Unity and Strength) is starting its second loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Senkata Community Center. This group consists of ten members and is led by a Board of Directors in which Sra. Marisol is the president.

The loan will benefit small business owners such as Sra. Marisol. She currently has a business of selling coca leaves. Marisol became knowledgeable about this business after learning the trade on her own several years ago.

The loan she is receiving now will be used to increase her capital for buying coca leaves in bulk. She acquires her product from wholesales vendors in the city of La Paz and then sells it from her retail space. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to support her family. Marisol is in a common-law relationship and has two children.
