Martha's story

Martha is a 37-year-old single mother of two teenage children. She has been hawking (selling door-to-door) shoes along the streets of the slums of Mathare for four years. She is requesting a loan of Kes. 20,000 to purchase more shoes and sandals to sell. In the future, she hopes to expand her business and import her own wares. She describes herself as ambitious and hardworking and says that, since becoming a member of Faulu, she has begun keeping records.
