Ramatu is a 40-year-old local restaurant operator. She is married and the mother of six children. One child is currently in school while the rest are working. She prepares and sells local food like banku, fufu and omotuo with soup and other local dishes. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains and it is taken with hot pepper or soup. Omotuo is prepared from rice and it is also taken with soup.
She started her local food production 18 years ago and sells in her neighborhood. She is working very hard to provide for the educational needs of the children. She says prices of raw materials have gone up significantly and she needs the support of a loan to enable her meet her production expenditure. With the loan, she wants to purchase more raw materials like bags of maize, cassava, plantain, meat, fish, vegetables and firewood to prepare her meals. She would be grateful for that assistance.
