A loan helped to buy pharmaceuticals to resell to his customers.

Alhaji's story

Greetings from Masuba, a community near the small and busy Northern rural area in Sierra Leone.

Alhaji is a 33-year-old married man who has a baby just 8 months old.

Alhaji has a pharmacy. When he was a student and before he became a pharmacy technician, he began this business to take care of his family. Alhaji has now been in the pharmacy business for 3 years.

Alhaji wants to empower his life. He works 6 days a week and 15 hours per day. Alhaji wants to use this loan to buy additional pharmaceuticals to resell to his customers.

He hopes to repay his loan. In the future, Alhaji would like to open a clinic and empower his community with a medical facility.

He really wants to improve his life and is grateful to BRAC Sierra Leone and the Kiva community for their financial support.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative source of finance.
