Eugénie's story

K. Eugénie was born on February 7, 1968 in Porto-Novo, administrative capital of Bénin. Married to MIDODJIHO Félix, a draftsman, Eugénie is the mother of three children, all enrolled in school. For 10 years, the family has been living in Hinkoudé, a district of Porto-Novo. Family living expenses are a shared responsibility of Eugénie and Félix.

Eugénie never went to school. For 10 years, she has been selling cooked food (mutton stew with 'akassa', a dish made of cornstarch, and fish). Eugénie buys her ingredients in the market Ouando in Porto-Novo, and sells her food in Koutongbé, a district of Porto-Novo. She has been a client of ALIDé for some time and has had two loans which have been correctly reimbursed. Eugénie is requesting a third loan from ALIDé to add to her working capital and grow her clientele.
