A loan helped to buy mandarin seedlings to expand his crops and earn better income for his family.

Manuel's story

Manuel is 41 years old. He lives with his spouse and has 2 children and a baby and his business is citrus production. He performs his work in "Coroico," a rural area with a tropical and humid climate with high mountains covered in dense vegetation and fast-flowing rivers.

Manuel and his family live in their own house. There he has 5 hectares of land where he grows mandarin oranges in one part and leaves the other half to rest. This fruit is known for being planted once and harvesting for many years. It only requires maintenance of the land and some care. The sale of the harvest is performed by intermediaries who transport the fruit to the city. His business can improve by expanding the crop. The advantage is that he sells his entire harvest. The problem is expanding the crop. His dream is to improve his business. He wishes to expand his mandarin orange crop. With this loan, he will buy mandarin seedlings and will pay laborers. This is the seventh loan that he has received from the institution in the 22 years that he has been working independently.

It is for these reasons that Manuel is requesting a loan to buy mandarin seedlings to expand his crop and earn better income for his family.
