A loan of $700 helped to buy fertilizer and to rent a tractor.

Eugenio's story

Eugenio is 36 years old, lives with his wife and two children in his own home. For 12 years he has worked in agriculture growing potatoes, olluco (an Andean root vegetable), beans and vegetables such as carrots, onions and peas. His wife is his main support when he completes his diverse tasks in the field. He also raises cattle in a small cattle shed that he built next to his house. In addition, he sells the products that he harvests in a market in the city of Aledaña; in this way he is able to see the fruits of his labor. Over the years he has strengthened the economic situation of his household, and this is the reason why he wishes to increase his crops and acquire more animals. This is the second opportunity that he has had to get a loan from MFP, and he is very happy to be a part of his communal bank, where he gets along very well with all of his colleagues. The money that he is requesting now will be invested in the purchase of bags of fertilizer and to rent a tractor for the next harvest.
