Talisuaga's story

Talisuaga N. is a 32-year-old woman living in the town of Faleasiu Tualesolo. She is married and has 2 school-aged children. To make a living, Talisuaga owns & operates a taxi. Talisuaga also owns a plantation, where she grows taro (a starchy root), bananas, and cocoa. Talisuaga has been engaged in this business for over 3 years and earns approximately 400 WST a month from these activities.

In 2009, Talisuaga joined SPBD to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Talisuaga is requesting for the first time, a loan from SPBD. Talisuaga is requesting a loan of 1000 WST which will be used to purchase materials needed to provide service. Talisuaga plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her taxi business.

Talisuaga has not been affected by the tsunami which hit Samoa on 9/29/09.
