A loan of $350 helped purchase supplies for food preparation.

Rosa's story

Rosa is a 52 year old mother who lives with her husband and two of her four children in the urban neighborhood of Las Brisas, which is in the city of Chiclayo.

For approximately 13 years, she has been selling food from a small market stall in the city of Lambayeque, which is 15 minutes away from Chiclayo. Every day she attends to her customers from 11:30am until 5pm. Her vending stall is quite popular because of Rosa’s excellent service and the good seasoning of the dishes she offers.

This business enables her to remain active and generate income to support her family. Her husband works as an assistant at the public university in the area. With the money from both of their incomes, they are able to pay for their children’s college education.

Because of the continuous demand that she experiences, Rosa believes she has to prepare more dishes to offer to her customers. For this reason, she is requesting her first loan from Edypme Alternativa in the amount of 1000 soles. She will use the money to purchase supplies to continue preparing her dishes (rice, sugar, beans, oil, and noodles).

Her greatest wish is to open a small grocery store in her home so that her family can continue to move forward. Rosa is well-known and respected by her neighbors. Her customers view her as a modest hardworking woman.
