A loan of $650 helped purchase basic grains, meat, sodas, candy, dairy products, and other items.

Arely Del Socorro's story

Doña Arely is 42 years old and has been managing her own grocery store for 6 years. She wakes up in the early hours so that she can attend to her customers. Most of her sales are made in the mornings because many families come by every day to purchase the items they need for breakfast. Arely was able to start her business with the help of a loan and a small portion of her savings. She is a single mother of two school-aged children. She and her family live in Laureles Norte in the capital of Managua.

Arely has plans to make improvements to her home and support her children’s education. With this loan, she plans to buy basic grains, meat, sodas, candy, dairy products, and other items so that she can increase her sales and generate better earnings.
