A loan of $550 helped purchasing fertilizer for corn and bean crops.

Diana's story

Diana S. A. is 23 years old. She is single and has a son, who is her highest priority. She would like to buy fertilizer in order to maintain the corn and bean crops on her farm. Her farm is 18 hectares in size, and she also raises chickens, pigs and grass for cattle. She has worked on her farm for several years now, and she would like to expand it. This is her first loan from FUDECOSUR. She has not had any problems with her property, but she wants to make her farm more productive. She also tells us that she has taken out other loans with state banks, such as the National Bank of Costa Rica, but FUDECOSUR offered her a loan with better terms and a much lower interest rate. Diana also wants to provide her son with the education he will need to prepare for his future and face life more successfully.
