A loan of $1,050 helped purchase belts, wallets, purses, and leather shoes.

Ruth's story

Ruth is a dynamic and hardworking woman. She lives in the city of Pucallpa in the Ucayali region. She is 49 years old and is the mother of five children, all of which are older. Ruth is involved in the sale of shoes, clothing, and perfumes. She has this business in her house, and has the support of her husband who is involved in the sale of passementerie. Ruth has been part of the “Mujeres Virtuosas” communal bank for the past four years. The first loan that she received was for 300 PEN, which allowed her to invest in shoes.

Ruth currently needs a loan of 3000 PEN which she will use to purchase belts, wallets, purses, and leather shoes, since she brings this merchandise from the city of Trujillo. Ruth’s goal is to have a well set up store with household items.
