Luz's story

Luz is a dynamic and hard-working woman. She lives in the city of Pucallpa in the Ucayali region. She is 63, and she has five children who are adults. She has been a widow for many years. Luz sells regional grains. She also has a “motocarro” (three wheeled motorized vehicle), which she rents out daily. She has been part of the Mujeres al Progreso Communal Bank for eight years. She used her first loan to buy chickens to sell in the local Bellavista market. Luz currently needs a loan for 3,000 PEN to buy corn to take to the city of Lima to sell. Luz’ goal is to have a general grocery store and to keep working to improve economically.
