Rita's story

Rita is a hard working woman with a spirit of perseverance. She lives in the city of Pucallpa, in the Ucayali region. She is 57 years old and the mother of two sons who are now of age. Rita sells clothing articles and is involved in motor-cart rentals. She shares this responsibility with her husband. She has been a member of the Banco Communal “Mujeres Trabajadoras” (“Working Women”) for eight years now. The first time, Rita received a loan of 300 soles which she invested in clothing articles for children. At the moment, she needs a loan of 3000 soles which she will use to purchase shoes, wallets, belts and clothing articles which will be sell to her clientele. Rita’s goal is to have her own store from where she could sell her products.
