Lonah's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Lonah is an ambitious woman from Nandi Hills, a lush, tea-producing area in the Central Province of Kenya. She is very passionate, hard-working, and eager to learn and take on new challenges. These qualities have propelled her to become one of the most respected farmers in her village. She sells milk, poultry, and vegetables produced on her farm.

Of all the activities in which she involves herself, dairy farming is closest to Lonah’s heart. She enjoys waking up every morning to milk her cows and feed them with fodder that has a high nutritional value. She is so keen and close with her cows that she has named them. They make her feel very proud and fulfilled.

Lonah is seeking a KES 40,000 loan through Kiva's field partner, Juhudi Kilimo, to pay the school fees for her children. She believes that the knowledge and skills her children will get through school will help them have a brighter future.
