A loan helped refinance my start-up debt, the weight of which is crippling my business.

Shaun's story

I started Hot Winter Hot Sauce as an effort to create a job for myself that would allow me to work with integrity to my ideals. I had been working on a small farm in northern California, and I set up my business to generate the types of growing contracts that I would have liked to see when I was farming. I have learned a lot in the last five years. My production process is dialed, my operations are streamlined, and my brand is well established in the region (we were a runner up for the "Best of Portland"). Still, it has been a struggle to grow quickly enough to really generate what might be deemed a livelihood. By shifting some of my focus away from marketing, and back towards farming some of my own peppers, I can carve out enough of a margin to make this business sustainable.

This loan is special because:

This loan helps an entrepreneur install new equipment and shift towards growing his own chilies!
