Mr. Srurn K. is the village bank president, elected by the members. He is a farmer who has a small piece of land on which he cultivates rice to earn his living. In his farming work, he presently faces a small problem because he does not have enough money to buy fertilizers to support the field. For this reason, he has decided to ask for a loan to buy more fertilizers in order to make his crop more productive.

His wife, Mrs. Choeuk Phall, helps him with his business. They have five children, two of whom are blacksmiths. The younger ones attend the local school.
