Kunthea Group's story

The loan group is made up of six members who live in the Takeo province of Cambodia. It is led by Kunthea, who is 37 years old, married and the mother of three school-aged children. To support her family, she has earned a living by growing rice for the last ten years while her husband works in construction. This family makes around $13 a day.

Kunthea would like to use her portion of this loan to raise cows. She says that this investment will allow her to increase her family profits and improve her family's living conditions. In the future, she plans to expand her farming, build a new proper house and support her children’s studies.
