A loan helped to buy more rice, vegetables, meat, and firewood etc.

Lukaia's story

Lukaia is a 45-year-old woman. She is married and the mother of four children. All of her children are currently independent. She lives with her husband in a small village in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.

Lukaia sells rice and stew in the community where she lives. She started her operation about thirty years ago to take care of her entire family. Her food production is on a small scale because of inadequate funds to support her business.

She wants to use the loan to buy more meat, vegetables, and rice to increase her efficiency and enable her to produce her stew in larger quantities. She believes this will help expand her business and raise more income to support her family.
