A loan helped a member to buy quality duck feed.

Kyon Kyaik(D)-B Village Group's story

Yin, on the far left, is a hard-worker who owns a duck farm, which she runs with her husband. It has been her main source of income for the last eighteen years. She also has a small fruit plantation to make some extra money. She and her husband have one school-aged son.

Yin currently has 200 ducks that lay her a good amount of eggs, which she is able to sell for a healthy profit. However, she has seen most of her profit swallowed up by local lenders who charge punitive interest rates.

Yin wishes to use this low interest Kiva loan to buy more duck feed. This will nourish her ducks who will in turn give her healthy eggs to sell.

Yin and the other group members are very grateful for this loan.
