A loan helped to obtain a generator set to provide power in his store.

Marani's story

Marani, 49, is an emerging small-scale entrepreneur. He is based in Lundazi, in the Eastern Province of Zambia.

Marani has been running a grocery store for more than five years. He stocks a wide range of basic consumer goods, including bread, oranges, eggs, cold beverages and toiletries. The grocery store is Marani’s only source of income.

Marani’s store is located in an area prone to frequent power cuts. In response to this challenge, Marani is asking for a loan to obtain a generator set to provide electricity in his shop during power cuts.

Rent-to-Own would love to help Marani sustain and develop his business by enabling him to keep his store open and fully functional at all times. Rent-to-Own will deliver the generator set to Marani’s grocery store and train him on how to use it.
