Hilaria's story

Hilaria is a member of the "Virgen del Rosario" communal bank, located in Villa Queñuani, in the Yunguyo district, Yunguyo province, Puno department. She is 60 years old, married, and has 7 children. She lives in the Barrio Central neighborhood, and did not have the opportunity to study.

She has been working the the Manuela Ramos movement (a Peruvian women's rights organization) for several years. She is one of the founding members of her communal bank. She had her first loan of PEN 300, which let allowed her to increase her capital for her clothing sales business.

Now she needs a new loan of PEN 2500, which will allow her to buy jackets, pants, shirts, etc. Hilaria also sells chili peppers and raises livestock.

Her greatest wish is to continue working.

She likes the ease of savings and loans with her bank.
