Bahari Group's story

Dismas C., age 27, is single. He has a general store which he started in 2004. At the store, he sells rice, sugar, beans, and also items like cups and utensils. He works daily from 6am until 11pm. He is able to earn a monthly profit of around $152.

This will be Dismas’s 4th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to increase the stock of his general store and has paid them back successfully. He hopes for a new loan to increase the size of his business.

Dismas will share this loan with his loan group, Bahari, which totals 21 members. The members of the group hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Dismas is 1st on the right, back row, with a red cap.
