A loan helped for purchasing a cultivator for his tractor.

Igor's story

Igor is a 30-year-old farmer from Manoilesti village in the Ungheni region of Moldova. He is married and has no children. His wife works as an accountant at the local school.

Igor has a very large farm of around 20 hectares where he grows wheat, corn, sunflowers, and plums. Some of this he uses for food for his animals and the rest he sells. On his farm he raises horses, pigs, cows, sheep, and rabbits. His farm’s sales in 2017 were good. He also has two tractors and some aggregates that help him to process his land. However, Igor doesn’t have a cultivator and rents it every time he needs one.

To buy a cultivator, Igor requests a loan from Kiva. He likes what he does and wants to be able to continue his work to make his life more beautiful.

This loan is special because:

It enables those living in rural areas to grow their businesses at a lower interest rate.
