Yoysi's story

Yoysi belongs to the Communal Bank “Mujeres en Accion” [“Women in Action”] in the district of San Jose de Sisa, Province of El Dorado, Department of San Martin. She lives with her partner, is 36 years old, and is a mother of 3 children that still depend on her. Yoysi began selling sweets 3 years ago, and with her first loan of 300 PEN she was able to start this business. She also works selling food from her own house, where her principal clients are teachers and students, given that she is located near an institute which helps greatly in her sales. Currently she feels well and is very calm about the work that she carries out. With this loan of 1200 PEN she will purchase sweets, such as: Sublimes chocolates, Cañonazo candies, lollipops, gum, and different flavor and brand caramels, to be able to satisfy her clients needs. Part of the money will also be invested in the purchase of supplies to make her meals. She feels very satisfied with the work she carries out, and she thinks it is worth the sacrifice to be able to fulfill her dreams and goals that she has set for herself. In this same manner, she thanks the Movimiento Manuela Ramos institution for supporting her and the other women that hope to get ahead in life.
