A loan of $500 helped purchase fabric, thread, buttons, and other materials.

Lucrecia Evangelina's story

Lucrecia G. has been making clothes by hand for the past four years. During her first year, she made a half dozen gowns that she sold at the market in Masaya. In 2007, after a year in business, she began working with ADIM. The assistance she received helped her increase her business to the point where she currently distributes her clothing line in Managua, Catarina, Masaya, Granada, León, and Jinotepe.

Lucrecia says that she was able to get ahead thanks to the favorable loans from ADIM and the hard work of her family, which includes her four children and her husband who provided assistance. During this time, she opened her own establishment in a location that overlooks the large tourist city of Catarina.

She is a role model of perseverance, hard work, and the desire for self-improvement. Like a grain of sand, only a tiny bit of self-belief is all that is needed to realize one’s goals. Lucrecia’s loan will be used to purchase fabrics, thread, lace, and other materials needed to produce her style of clothing that she will sell from her own store.
