A loan helped increase his stock to improve sales.

Juma's story

Juma is a divorced man with five children of which three attend school. He is a farmer and also owns a small retail shop in Nyenga, which brings in extra income. He uses the extra income to fund the family expenses when he is awaiting the harvest.

The shop is affected by limited stock which has hindered his sales because some customers come and then leave without buying. He has therefore contacted UGAFODE to avail him of a loan of UGX 1,000,000 to enable him to stock a variety of items (groceries, toiletries, etc) in large quantities. He is hopeful that his sales will increase because a fully stocked shop attracts more customers than a shop with empty shelves.

Juma is hopeful that if his sales improve, he will get the money he needs to finish his semi-finished house. He appreciates the funders for the support that will boost his business as well as improving his family's standards of living.
