A loan helped a member to purchase natural compost and gas for his farm.


Rut Group's story

Rut, 34, is married, and lives in a village in the Prey Veng province of Cambodia. Since 2001, he and his wife have operated a farm together where they grow rice to make a profit to support the family. His family income is also aided by one of his children, a garment factory worker. Their two other children are still in school. Their family income is around $15 USD per day.

He is now leading a group of two members asking for a loan with KREDIT. He is pictured on the right. He would like to use his share of the loan to purchase natural compost and gas for his farm. He says this purchase will allow him to increase his crop yields, as well as his family's profits.
