N. Jamila is a hard working and devoted lady with a business of selling nice plastics and sauce pans. She started 10 years ago selling plates, cups and saucepans and although there is a lot of competition, she is able to make 100,000/= a week from Buikwe trading centre. She is moving her path to success because of the loans, good customer care plus having quality products in her stock. Jamila has a dream of becoming a whole sale supplier plus educating all her children to the University level. She is married with 7 children aged 20 – 4 years and all in school as she takes care of her siblings. Jamila needs a loan to be able to add more capital into her business since most of the money she makes goes into school fees payments and food for home consumption.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
