Kroch B., 57, is engaged in the business of sewing and designing clothes at her home, earning an income of US $4 per day. She is married with five children. One of her children is pictured at her workplace because B. was not available. She lives with her husband in Kompong Chnang Province. Her husband works for the government in the town, earning an income of US $3 per day. The family is also assisted by three of the children who are currently employed in a local garment factory. B. is seeking to improve her standard of living, so she has requested a loan of US $700 to purchase a motorbike for her husband to use to commute to work. She hopes that her new motorbike will enable her family to cut back on public transportation expenses.
