Chan K., 26, is widowed and has a young child. She lives in Battambong Province with her sister and her child.
K. is engaged in a business sewing Cambodian traditional clothes, earning an income of US$5 per day. Her daily expenses do not allow her to save enough income to improve her business. Therefore, K. is asking for a loan of US$800 to purchase a new sewing machine that is reliable enough to handle heavy work in the business. By doing so, she hopes her current business will be improved, and she is able to generate more income for household use.
