A loan helped to pay the maintenance charges for her husband's rickshaw so that he can fully maintain his vehicle and start driving again.

Siddiqa's story

Siddiqa is 58-year-old lady living with her spouse and five children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan.

Her husband has been driving a rickshaw on unpaved and wet paths for many years. This is the reason his rickshaw's body has damage from beneath. His vehicle stands in a workshop, and he is unable to generate even a penny without his rickshaw. He wants to fix his rickshaw, but the mechanic is asking for heavy maintenance charges. He wants to overhaul his rickshaw but is looking for a lump sum amount.

Therefore, Siddiqa has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so that her husband will be able to pay the full maintenance charges to the mechanic.

She thanks Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan for this honorable support.

Note: Siddiqa's husband could not bring his rickshaw for a picture shooting due to heavy depreciation.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
