A loan of $350 helped purchase of fertilizer.

Flor's story

Flor is 45 years old. She is a widow and lives in her own house with her 3 children, aged 21, 17 and 15. For the past 17 years, she has worked in agriculture with the help of her children, who began when they were young and have been able to contribute more and more over time. Today, the family has several cows and sheep, as well as a few plots of land where they cultivate potatoes and other vegetables. Every day, Flor sells the milk from her cows and checks on the progress of her crops. Her desire is to continue expanding her cultivated fields and improve the quality of her cows.

This is Flor's first opportunity to take on a loan with MFP; for her, working with the support of a communal bank is a new experience. The funds she is requesting will be used to purchase sacks of fertilizer, which will allow her to plant alfalfa (to feed her animals) and more vegetables.
