Mary's story

Mary is fifty years old. She is divorced and has given birth to three children who are all in school. She lives with her children in a rented apartment in a town called Dormaa in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. Dormaa is a commercial and farming town. She is a trader. Mary trades in tubers of yam. She buys from nearby towns and supplies to food vendors and retailers in her community. She also treks to nearby communities to sell on their market days. Mary has been in business for over ten years and wants a loan to buy tubers of yam on large scale.
