A loan helped to buy stocks of silk, fancy sequins, and pearls of various colors, for her embroidery stones business purposes.

Dilshad's story

Dilshad is a 39-year-old married woman. She is living with her husband in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of four children. Her husband has a milk selling business and her elder son works over a lathe machine.

She is doing stone work by hand at home, and financially supports her family. She uses stones put into embroidered dresses. She belongs to a poor family. Her husband’s wages are low, so she helps her husband through her embroidery stone work.

She has been doing these stone arts from many years. Now her stones for putting into the embroidered dresses have diminished. Therefore, she has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, to buy stocks of silk, fancy sequins, and pearls of various colors for her embroidery stones business. She hopes that this loan will prove beneficial for her and for her family.

Dilshad is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
