A loan helped to buy a new sewing machine and sewing material for her sewing services to make it more effective for her family members.

Rani's story

Rani is a 49-year-old married woman and a mother of four children living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is a hardworking and independent mother who is helping her family by providing services of sewing at her home. She has been doing it for a few years. She is very well known for her techniques of stitching clothes. She sews clothes for the ladies of her nearby town.

To continue operations of her sewing business, she has requested a loan to buy a new sewing machine because it is not working properly and sewing material e.g. spools, threads, zippers, stiff cloth, buttons, etc. as her sewing material has diminished.

Therefore, she has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan so she can buy a new sewing machine as well as sewing materials i.e. spools, threads, zippers, stiff cloth, buttons, etc. for her sewing services.

Rani thanks Kiva and field partner, BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:
