A loan helped to buy stocks of rice, oil, drinks and soaps in large quantities to sell.

Abigail's story

Abigail is 24 years old. She is single and she lives in Atonsu, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Abigail makes a living from her shop selling rice, oil, drinks and soaps. Her customers who are made up largely of students and other individuals come to her shop to buy. She is very hardworking and a self-driven young woman.

The main challenge that this enterprising young woman has often complained of, is the high cost of transportation due to insufficient capital leading to her always buying in bits. She has requested this loan so that she can buy stocks of rice, oil, drinks and soaps in large quantities to sell.

With the increase in stocks, Abigail will be assured of good proceeds, which she plans to use to pay her fees in the University as well as reinvesting into the business.
