A loan of $525 helped to prepare his land for the next planting.

Lorenzo's story

Lorenzo is a 24 year old single man. He currently lives in his grandmother’s house. He feels a great love for her because she took care of him after his mother abandoned him when he was a boy. His grandmother taught him about responsibility and work.

He devotes himself to planting coffee, bananas, and chilies. At the same time, he is studying for a career in the agricultural industry. He goes to a technology institution in the city every day from seven in the morning until one in the afternoon. To do so, he travels two hours by car. When he returns home at three or four in the afternoon, he takes care of his crops. On the week ends he gathers his bananas, which he sells for 5 soles for twenty-five pounds (12 kilos) to the buyers who come to his farm.

His dreams for the future are to proudly finish his career, and to fully devote himself to his crops. They are his only source of income. That is why he values and takes care of each one of his plants.

This is his third loan with MFP, where he is recognized for his responsibility. When he cannot attend a meeting of his communal bank, he gives the money for his payment to the treasurer. The money from the loan he is now asking for is to plant chilies on another one of his farms.
