Sancho's story

Sancho Filipe C. is a 60 year old Maputo resident. He is married and has five children with ages between 5 and 28, all attending school.Sancho supports the three younger ones. He completed 8th grade but had to drop school to join the army.

Sanchos used to work at the Mozambique Rail Company "Caminhos-de-ferrro de Moçambique" (CFM), until he joined the army at 21. He was later tranfered to Cabo Delgado (a province in northern Mozambique), and returned to Maputo when he was 24, getting his job back at the Rail Company where he stayed until his retirement. He now works at a private security firm as the chief supervisor and makes around 4.500,00MT (U$155) per month, money that he uses to support his family and build his house.

He is asking for a $375 loan so he can buy construction supplies (cement, iron, and other materials) to finish building his house.
