Nuon's story

S. is a 37 year-old resident of Kandal Province, Cambodia. He currently catches fish to sell retail in the market and makes an average of $3 each day. For the business, he is relying on fishing around Tunle Sap Lake and the other ponds in the area of his community.


He is married to Thon, 41, who makes a living braiding mats from home to sell for a profit. On the other hand, the family has been farming for extra profit. The couple are the parents of three children and all of them are still attending school. Fishing is S.'s main source of stable income for the family's living expenses.


In order to make the business more successful, he is asking for a loan to buy more fishing tools to supply his business.
