A loan helped to start a grocery store.

Tabitha's story

Dear Kiva community! This is Tabitha, who is humble, confident and most of all, very innovative. She is 31 years old and depends entirely on her crops and livestock for survival.

Tabitha is married and has been blessed with children who attend a public school in her village. Tabitha started farming nine years ago, and she has managed to meet her family’s basic needs through the profits she has generated from farming.

Tabitha has the inborn qualities of an entrepreneur: she can identify a business opportunity in her area and assemble the resources necessary to set up that business. As she was selling her milk in her local market, Tabitha realized that there was no grocery in her region. She has found it a very viable idea. She has looked for good suppliers and she is now seeking a loan to stock the grocery. She is good in business and has good customer relations skills; this will enable her to excel in her business.

Tabitha believes she is assured of profits. She will now be able to pay for her children's tuition fees and give them a decent lifestyle. Your kindness will have a lasting impact on her heart. She thanks her lenders in advance.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
