Angelica's story

Angélica was born in M. (17km from Boane) in Mozambique. She is a 49 year old widow with six children, four of them students. She finished 3rd grade but had to drop school because of her parent's financial difficulties. She got married when she was 20 and her husband passed away 5 years ago, leaving her to take care of all the children plus two of her brothers that live in her house. Her parents have also passed away years ago and she supports her family by selling basic food and cleaning products. She makes around 4.000,00MT (U$138) per month, and with that money she's able to support her family and save a little bit every month. This is her 4th loan and she's asking for 15.000,00MT (U$550) to buy construction supplies (cement, paint and others). She plans on paying the loan without a problem so she can take more loans and finish building her house, as well as improve her business.
