Zainab's story

Zainab is a 37-year-old married woman and a mother of four children living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is a hardworking and independent mother who is helping her family by providing sewing services from her home. She has been doing this for the past four years.

Zainab is very well familiar with the techniques of stitching clothes. She sews clothes for ladies in her nearby town. She earns enough to lead a decent life. To help her continue operations of her sewing business, she has requested a loan to buy a sewing machine and sewing materials such as spools, threads, zippers, stiff cloths, buttons and fabric, etc. Her previous sewing machine has became out of order due to continuous work and as well the sewing materials have diminished. In addition to repaying the loan, she will use part of the revenue to deal with personal expenses.

Zainab is thankful to Kiva and field partner, BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:
