A loan helped a member to buy 2 oxen.

Khandiar Group's story

This group of 7 is part of a "banc villageois" that was created in February 2000. The group brings together very dynamic women who are active in trade, agriculture, and cattle fattening.

Mbene, standing to the right of the photo with the raised hand, is the featured borrower. She is 36 years old, married and mother of 6 children including 4 girls.

She intends to buy 2 oxen which she will then sell after breeding. She also plans to buy cattle feed with the rest of the loan.

With the profit, she plans to meet the needs of her family by buying food, paying school fees for her children, and saving in the "banc villageois".
