A loan helped to buy tables and chairs to remodel the infrastructure of her pupusería; and she will use part of the money to pay for repairs to her stove and griddle.

Ana Del Carmen's story

Ana is currently single. She is the mother of a nine-year-old boy. To generate income to support her family, Ana works making pupusas (thick, corn tortillas stuffed with savory fillings) to sell. She states that she has sole responsibility for raising her son as she receives no economic support from his father.

She is seeking a loan to strengthen her business through the purchase of chairs and tables. She will also use part of the money to repair her stove and griddle. This will allow her to remodel the infrastructure of her pupusería and will provide her good work equipment. She will have a business with a better image. The investment will help her purchase furniture in cash and at a lower price.

She believes that she will provide better service to her customers, and hopes to have better sales and earnings to meet her obligations. Ana wants to keep her current source of income alive in order to provide her son a much more comfortable way of life.
